The Early Years: The 1932-1946 Letters
Goldsmith, Joel S. The Early Years: The 1932-1946 Letters. Longboat Key, Florida: Acropolis Books, Inc., (1949) 1998.
Goldsmith, born into a non-practicing Jewish family, became aware of Christian Science when both he and his father experienced healings through the prayers of Christian Science practitioners. He subsequently joined the Church and became a Christian Science practitioner. After sixteen years he left the Church but continued his healing and teaching practice worldwide. While still with the Church, Goldsmith wrote weekly ‘Letters’ to his patients as a way of strengthening their spiritual foundations. The Early Years is a compilation of these letters, sharing his unfolding understanding of such topics as: God, Reality, Nature of Error, The Law, Prayer, Spiritual Healing, Business, Home, Supply, Malpractice, Faith, etc. After leaving the Church, his subsequent publications would not mention Christian Science or quote from Mary Baker Eddy’s writings. Goldsmith would become known as a modern mystic, teacher, healer and revelator. Interest in his teachings continue to this day. One can (now, in 2022) find 901 tape recordings of his lectures on YouTube, and his teachings, many books, and course offerings can be accessed at joelgoldsmith.com. He is best known for his book The Infinite Way.
